Annie found her rescuee standing in a corner of a dark room littered with bed frames. “Are you hurt, Madam?” she asked the sobbing lady.
Orbs of light hovered above Annie and the lady, illuminating the latter's tearless face. The rescuee shook her head.
“Let's get you out of here.” Annie grabbed the lady's hand and led her to the door. A human figure standing in the doorway revealed she was followed. “Prudence?”
“I heard some hissing somewhere,” spoke Prudence in a trembling voice.
“You shouldn't have followed me.”
Annie started to feel hair on the rescuee's hand. Prudence screamed.
Prudence also appears in the novel I Killed My Friends and It Thrilled Me.
