The Cold Shoulder
White-marbled floor. Electric fireplace. Black faux leather couches. A personal bar. A 200-inch LED TV as the main attraction of the living room. It would've been a perfect place for Pontius to arrive at every night if only his wife hadn't divorced him and took away their children.
He poured himself a glass of Hennessy, sank on the sofa, and turned on the TV. Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Anything but the news.

“You shouldn't have given me the cold shoulder last time,” Prudence's voice entered my ear.
Prudence also appears in the novel I Killed My Friends and It Thrilled Me.
