No Hiding From Death
“We run away and hide? Is that what you're thinking?” Prudence asked.
The Hand of Justice was gone, no longer giving away to any human's eyes our location in the darkness of the hillside's woods.
“There's no hiding from Death,” I replied. “They will find us.”
The crunching of dried flora announced our pursuers' arrival. “And we have,” said my fellow Death in the pinstripe suit, the others stood behind him.
“Take me and only me. She's got nothing to do with this,” I said.
Another Death in a nun attire spoke. “But she knows more than she should now.”
Prudence also appears in the novel I Killed My Friends and It Thrilled Me.
