Lighten Up Arianna's Face
Not even the golden sunlight sneaking into her room could lighten up Arianna's face. Not even the morning's sweet milk and hot buttered sandwich could put a spring on her step. The minty toothpaste didn't enliven nor did the bubbly soap and lemon-scented shampoo. The fine talcum powder she poured onto her skin didn't make her feel any fresher.
Never. Any. Better.
Too bad because Arianna wasn't like that before. Before she became a wilting flower, she used to bloom brightest under the enthusiastic sun.
Sweet perfume and lilac dresses couldn't extinguish sadness but into the happy world she went.
