Prudence's voice pierced the thick atmosphere of the room “Don't be afraid.” Purple light outlined her silhouette at the doorway. She scanned the entire room with her human eyes then settled her gaze at an overturned table. “I'm here to save you.” She received an almost silent sniffing and sobbing for response.
I laughed. She and the other person in the room didn't hear me. Every time I came for someone or something, there's no escaping my clutches. Souls reaped over centuries could attest to that. Good thing for Prudence, I didn't come there for her. At least not yet.
