A Little More Than Human
Apathy is what happens when you've been alive for thousands of years.
“You don't seem surprised or even annoyed,” Prudence told me after her revelation.
“I—Did my face give me away?” I projected a grin on my face.
“What was I thinking?”
“I didn't mean to offend—”
“I'm not offended at all. You, being Death and all, probably have seen more interesting things.” Prudence put down the jar of little, red fruits back on the study table. “Besides, it's my father who deserves the credit.”
“He grows these magical fruits that make me a little more than human.”
Prudence also appears in the novel I Killed My Friends and It Thrilled Me.
