Wanderlust

Sometimes I'd like to bathe in seawater
salty, blue, and foamy
for the water from the shower
could never be like that.

Sometimes I'd like to roll on the grass
dirty, muddy and itchy
for the sheets of my bed
could never be like that.

Sometimes I'd like to hear the birds
sweet, shrill, and croaky
for the music from my phones
could never be like that.

Sometimes I'd like to smell the mountain
dewy, moist, and invigorating
for the blower from the airconditioning
could never be like that.

Sometimes I'd like to meet the monkeys
playful, naughty and wild
for the monkey on my shirt
could never be like that.

Sometimes I'd like to climb the jungle
dense, scary, and creepy
for the plant on my vase
could never be like that.

Sometimes I'd like to chat with strangers
alien, confused and aloof
for the people in my house
could never be like that.

Sometimes I'd like to get lost out there
enormous, ablaze, and dangerous
for the pictures on my screen
could never be like that.
